Ford will be soon ready to present its new 2016 Ford C-Max Energi. It is a plug-in hybrid, very similar to the previous model. It has some improvements, but it will not bring any major changes to the market. In this case, it seems like a very good decision of the company, because if you have something amazing, why change it?
The new 2016 model will have a very spacious cabin, covered with fine materials, while the exterior design won’t receive too many changes. All in all, a price change should be considered, because it seems a little bit overrated. With few improvements and changes it should get even better market position and it will improve sale results.
As for the exterior, it hasn’t changed much compared to the previous model. The car will be lightly updated and the changes will be most present at the front segment. There will be a large chrome grille and sharper headlights with LED technology, which will certainly improve its look into a more modern and stylish one. The new Ford will also have 15-inch alloy wheels that will also improve fuel economy which is the most important for buyers of new cars in U.S. Reports suggest that with few improvements this version could return 45/40 mpg city/highway.
Interior wise, this car will have an enormous, spacious cabin, and even when all passengers are inside, it will still have enough space for everyone to feel very comfortable. To provide some extra comfort, the cabin will have new and improved leather seats. The new telescopic steering wheel will be wrapped with fine leather. This model comes with some really eye-catching design. As for the cargo space, it could have been a little wider, comparing to the size of the car. New model will be equipped with the MyFord Touch, but once again it will be difficult to use. The company really needs to fix it, since it is a constant problem.
2016 Ford C-Max Energi Range
The 2016 Ford C-Max Energi will be again powered with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine capable to deliver 141 hp and 129 lb-ft. It is combined with an electric motor which will be supplied from 7.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Joined, the total output should be 188 hp and the power will be sent to the front wheels. You might think that 188 hp is not enough but have in mind that this is a compact plug-in hybrid vehicle meaning it is not that heavy while performances are not priority. This Ford model could travel up to 19 miles with just electric power, thanks to the much larger battery pack than in the standard C-Max Hybrid. The model will need about 2.5 hours to fully recharge the pack, using a 240-volt charging station.
Safety wise, the car will be equipped with options such as stability control, eight airbag and antilock brakes with emergency brake assist. It will also have a rearview camera, active park assist and adaptive cruise control. Current offer will remain almost unchanged and we really don’t mind this since it is one of the best in class models.
The release date of the 2016 Ford C-Max Energi is still unknown, but the company is probably waiting for the perfect moment to put its new car into the market. It could be assumed that the car will appear in the United States at the beginning of 2016. Price wise, it seems that Ford a little bit overrated the price of its new C-Max Energi car, since it is significantly higher than the regular C-Max. The price is somewhere about $31,770 on the American market and it really seems too much for this car based on its features. Have in mind that if you decide to buy this or any similar vehicle you will be getting rebates and refunds, these mainly depends of the state in which you live.
