After the Fusion was delivered as a redesigned model in 2013th it was quite obvious that many buyers will like it a lot. The 2015 Ford Fusion comes with only minor changes since there are no reasons to fix something that is not broken.
Things like inflatable rear seatbelts, heated steering wheel and ventilated front seats are already standard on most trim levels of Fusion but for 2015 model we expect even greater number of features to be offered as a standard package. In 2014th we could see the addition of the 1.5 liter EcoBoost engine that offer fantastic fuel economy just like the 1.6 liter EcoBoost unit also available in this model. With few tweaks to aerodynamics and ECU we should be getting slight improvement in fuel economy and performances but we do not expect to see significant changes here.
Instead of the more powerful and much thirstier V6 units we are getting smaller one 2.0 liter inline four cylinder that has already been in the lineup. This unit will continue to deliver 240 hp and pretty good 26 mpg in combined drive cycle.
2015 Ford Fusion Changes
Since there will be no major changes to the 2015 model we will be getting pretty much the same offer on the safety technologies like before. Difference is that some features will be offered as a standard instead as the optional. Features like automated parking assist, blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, Sync voice command system and similar will be present. Entire infotainment system and other car systems will be controlled over the MyFord Touch interface that still needs few improvements.
Base engine is the 2.5 liter four cylinder bringing 175 hp and 175 pound feet of torque that sends power to front wheels through a six speed automatic transmission. Best on the fuel economy are the 1.5 and 1.6 liter EcoBoost units that offer 178 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque in 1.6 liter version and 178 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque for 1.5 liter version. The 1.6 liter unit is combined with six speed manual transmission only while the 1.5 liter unit comes in combination with six speed automatic and certainly will be more attractive to U.S. buyers.
Most power will be offered by the 2.0 liter EcoBoost turbocharged inline four cylinder engine that delivers 240 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. Power is transferred to front wheels through a six speed automatic transmission that also has paddle shifters while the all-wheel drive is optional for Titanium trim level.
Release Date Of 2015 Fusion
When it comes to 2015 Ford Fusion release date we still do not have any official information’s but since it will not be a major redesign we do expect it to be offered in 2014th, even before the summer while the sales should start shortly after that or during the fall.
