The automotive world of today is shifting quickly from the gasoline-powered vehicles we are currently driving to much more efficient powertrains. New technologies are delivered daily and already are in use. From introducing GPS systems in vehicles, to new power sources moving them, new technologies are here to stay.
One of the technologies that can bring significant improvements and we are expecting improvements with great expectations are the hybrid vehicles. The technology, which refers to HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) combines the classic internal combustion engine and electric motor. This combination we were able to see in many vehicles and are improving every day.
2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid Vs 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid
As always, some automotive companies were quicker to enter the hybrid car making business. Ford and Honda respectively have already started to gain a good advantage over other car companies with their Ford Fusion Hybrid and Honda Accord Hybrid. And so far, it has been race between the two, so much so that ever since the companies started making their hybrid cars, comparisons between the two have been inevitable. Therefore, here’s another comparison. Its 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid vs 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid.
Let’s start with the Japanese car maker Honda and its Accord Hybrid, which, together with Accord Plug-In Hybrid 2015 model should join the Accord mid-size sedans of the last generation. The 2015 model continues where the 2014 model stopped by providing both a standard hybrid and a plug-in hybrid.
With fuel economy of 50 mpg in the city and 45 mpg on the highway, Honda Accord is one of the highest-mpg sedans. This allows 2015 Accord to compete with other hybrid models on the market. Of course, the styling of 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid will be changed, but like the 2014 model was mostly a redesigned 2013 gasoline model, with a changed front bumper and grill.
2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid
The US car maker has entered the hybrid car production business in 2000 with the Ford Escape (so it will be 15 years when 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid arrives on our roads). Since then, they’ve made quite and impact in terms of hybrid cars and Ford enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting new models.
The Ford Fusion Hybrid is a mid-size sedan, and it performs quite well on the road. With a gas mileage of around 47 mpg both on the road and on highway, 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid is one of the cars currently leading the race when it comes to hybrids.
So, what’s the verdict and which one will be better? 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid or 2015 Honda Accord Hybrid? The question certainly is tough, but with the big leaps that Ford is making in terms of fuel economy, the way it handles and how it looks, my money has to go to Ford Hybrid in this case. Although the muted engine noise from Honda Accord Hybrid is welcome, I don’t think that it could match the look and feel of Ford Hybrid models.
