Ford improved its Falcon throughout the years. The new 2015 Ford Falcon will not be a complete redesign, but an improved version of the old one. There are some noticeable changes but nothing revolutionary, just enough to keep it fresh and to raise the interest of the public.
The body will get a few modifications while both the rear and front lights will get a restyling. The Falcon will receive a new front grille and also new headlights with daytime running LEDs. Also, the back of the car will most likely get a new spoiler to improve its drag coefficient and stability at higher speeds.
The engine line-up will most likely be the one on the old model. The 2 liter EcoBoost engine is expected to be the one found in the base model while an optional Australian developed 6 cylinder 4 liter petrol engine will be available both in aspirated and turbocharged forms. Both engines are improved over the previous generations, the main improvement being on the fuel efficiency front.
2015 Ford Falcon Specs
Along with the 2 liter and 4 liter engine you will be able to get in the top model of the Falcon, the XR8, Ford’s 5 liter V8. Most changes that are delivered with this engine are those related to fuel economy which went from 9.9 liters/100km to around 9.5 liters/100km. Also, you will most likely be able to get a supercharged version of this engine with over 500 horsepower making this car a beast.
The 2 liter base engine is good for up to 179 kW and 353 Nm of torque. This is almost as good as the Australian 4 liter 6 cylinder engine which develops 195 kW and 391 Nm of torque. Thanks to the lower fuel consumption and similar power output, the 2 liter might be a better choice for some people. Also, the EcoBoost and the Barra Inline 6 come with the ZF automatic gearbox made in China (gearbox that is specially designed to offer better for fuel economy rather than performance) while the more powerful models, the XR6 Turbo and XR8 will come with a stronger German ZF gearbox that will be able to handle higher amounts of torque.
Review Of 2015 Ford Falcon
Falcon’s interior will only suffer minor changes. You will get a few styling notes (like chrome on the instrument cluster and on the gear lever). As standard you will receive AC, power steering and electric windows. The in-car entertainment system is pretty good and the sound system is actually a lot better than on most new cars.
In conclusion, The 2015 Ford Falcon will basically be a facelift of the old model with improved engines as far as fuel economy goes. Also, transmission will be better suited for fuel economy rather than performance (but the powerful engines will still get the old German ZF gearbox).
Even prices has not yet been announced we do know that those will be quite similar to what we were paying to a previous model year. If this happens starting price should be about $ 34,000. Release date has not also been announced officially but we do expect to see this model presented during the summer of this year and that it will go on sale before the end of 2014th.
